Narang, Shri Rakesh Bhargava, Dr K V Reddy, and Dr S K Handoo. Based on the views expressed by the panellists, the following emerged from the discussions: • There is a need for the Cement Industry to enhance its pace in a fast changing scenario, which is now moving further towards more scientific Targets . • In view of our Limestone Deposits being very limited, and the need to conserve our Natural Resources. there is a need to experiment with huge quantity of Low-Grade Limestone lying in the country, keep track of New Technologies towards Alternative Cement, besides continually lowering the Clinker Factor, for Future Sustainability of the Indian Cement Industry. The above Workshop saw participation of more than 70 Members from the Industry, Cll , NCCBM, Equipment Manufacturers, Consultancy Organisations, and Academia. Enough space in the workshop was also accorded for "Question & Answer" at the end of each Technical Session that enabled the participants to get necessary clarifications on their doubts from the Experts. It is also heartening to record that the Feedback received from the Workshop and the Overall Programme was extremely positive and encouraging. There have also been varying requests particularly from the personnel from the Cement Plants for organising such Workshops on each of the topics besides on the areas of AFR usage, Grinding, WHP, & Renewable Energy, that would also focus on Technologies and span from 1 to 2 days to drive home Advanced Learnings. -prepared by Shri K K Roy Chowdhury, Technical Officer, CMA.
