Cement Manufacturers Association (CMA)

1 EDITORIAL I am happy to bring out the January-June 2026 issue of the CMA publication CEMENT, ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENT . Changing geopolitical uncertainties and complexities impact industries across sectors and imply that an industry's sustainability depends on newer innovations across all its activities and spending more on R&D, manpower training to embrace new technologies and processes in meeting the future needs indigenously. This is all the more relevant for the Indian Cement Industry that is growing well in tandem with the actions and policies being implemented by the Government of India. Such growth and accompanying infrastructure needs also call for considering adaptability with the future generations with changing lifestyles. The emerging scenario call for continued proactive actions on part of the Cement Industry by widening multi stakeholders engagement across disciplines to bridge the knowledge gap and establish an enduring brand image of the Industry. Some of the articles are given in to addressing these and the remaining cover regulatory and plant topics. I do hope you find the issue useful. As always, we would welcome comments and suggestions for the journal. APARNA DUTT SHARMA Secretary General
