• Andhra Pradesh for the third time in a row has topped in the ease of doing annual business ranking of states and Union Territories (UTs) by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).
  • The coal ministry said it has revised the list of mines to be auctioned for commercial mining and now 38 blocks would be auctioned instead of 41 mines announced earlier.
  • Western Coalfields Ltd (WCL) has offered additional quantity of coal to various power generation companies of central, west and south regions at a cheaper landed price, according to a WCL release.
  • Coal India Limited (CIL) is implementing a Rs 15,000 crore project for mechanised transportation and automatic loading of dry fuel in 49 major mines, an official said. Altogether 650 million tonne of coal will be transported and loaded without manual intervention after the project is completed by 2024, the official told.
  • Rajasthan is home to most of the conventional and non-conventional sources of energy generation. The government of India has released its roadmap to achieve 175 GW capacity in renewable energy by 2022, which includes 100 GW of solar power and 60 GW of wind power.
