A Brochure – Cement from India
Gives details on Indian Cement Industry along with relevant statistics. India's position as one of the Big Five of the global cement manufacturers is clearly brought out and the future plans of the industry given in outline.
Indian Cement Industry-At a Glance
Contains important statistics about the Indian Cement Industry including the types of cement manufactured along with grades and quantities. All about Indian Cement in a nutshell.
Concrete Pavement for Toll (BOT) Roads
Stresses on the importance that toll (BOT) roads are going to play in the future of our country. It contains details of planning for these by Ministry Of Surface Transport (MOST) and National Highways Authority Of India (NHAI), as well as the concessions being offered by the government for their construction by private parties. Existing rules and regulations on the subject are mentioned. Advantages of concrete pavements for such roads are clearly brought out.
Handbook on Cement Concrete Roads
A comprehensive publication covering all aspects of cement concrete roads from concept and design stage, all the way to completion and maintenance. An ideal reference book for engineers, consultants, contractors and students.
Fuel Savings on Cement Concrete Pavements
Although the long life and maintenance-free properties of concrete roads are well known, very few people are aware that loaded trucks save significant amounts of fuel when they travel on such roads. Trials carried out in USA and in India have shown savings of 14-20 percent of diesel when trucks travel on concrete roads, as compared to when they travel on bituminous ones. This publicaton gives details of the trials.
Concrete Overlays (White Topping)
Existing bituminous roads require frequent repairs and rehabilitation. To overcome this problem and save wear and tear on user vehicles, a hard and long lasting surface coating is required. A thin concrete slab on top of the existing bitumen road (called 'White-topping') is the ideal answer to this requirement. This book explains how best to undertake White-topping
Precast Concrete Block Paving
Concrete Block Paving has several advantages over other forms of surfacing, in several areas. These include streets in residential areas, parking lots, shopping malls, aircraft aprons and sidewalks. The publication gives full details, regarding production and application of concrete blocks.
Cement Concrete Roads for Cities
Most of our cities suffer from rutted and potholed roads, which prove to be a nightmare for commuters. This is mainly due to the roads having bituminous pavements, which have a number of drawbacks. This book shows how, by constructing concrete pavements or white-topping existing bituminous ones, these problems can be overcome and commuters provided with smooth-surfaced, user-friendly roads.
Cement Concrete Pavements for Bus Stands and Depots
Bus stands and bus depots are areas where buses halt/park. Oil often drips from these stationary vehicles and dissolves the existing bituminous surfaces, thus leading to widespread damage and problems for drivers. This publication brings out the advantages concrete pavements possess in such situations, since concrete does not get damaged by oil.
Sensitivity Analysis of Cost of Concrete and Flexible Pavements
Engineers are often reluctant to construct concrete pavements. Since they feel that these are always costlier than bituminous ones. This is not true, especially when roads are built on poor soils or where aggregates are costly. Detailed sensitivity analysis has been done in this book to bring out the conditions under which each type of pavement is cheaper or costlier.
Concrete Roads ‘Why and How’
Concrete Roads though costlier to build than bitumen ones, are more economical to maintain and trucks operating on them consume less fuel. In order to find out the break-even point beyond which concrete roads are economically and financially advantageous as compared to bitumen ones, an analysis has been carried out, in this publication. It proves that once the daily truck traffic exceeds 4,500 ,concrete roads are the only solution for our highways.
Handbook of Ready-Mixed Concrete
To ensure high quality concrete for building purposes, it is essential that it be produced in a ready mixed concrete plant. Concrete prepared at site often does not meet the standards required, hence in all developed countries almost all concrete used is of RMC variety. This Handbook give details of the production of ready mixed concrete, reight from sourcing of materials, setting up of a plant, quality control and marketing to delivery. It should prove of great help to entrepreneurs setting up RMC plants.
